As a child, I had only a few pieces of clothing, while my friends always wore something new. I learned to mix and match, to sew, and to redesign old fabrics gifted by neighbors or relatives transforming them into something expressive, fresh, and uniquely mine. I styled not just myself, but even my dolls, exploring bold ideas and playful fashion long before I knew the word “design.”
